Preventative healthcare is key to keeping your horse healthy, comfortable, and performing at their best. We provide comprehensive routine healthcare tailored to horses of all ages and disciplines.

Routine Visits – We are happy to provide a free monthly yard visit for larger yards where we can provide advice on nutrition, parasite control, general management alongside performing routine work and examinations.

Vaccinations – Vaccination programmes for influenza, tetanus, EHV, strangles, and more, tailored to your horse’s needs and competition requirements.

Dentistry – Routine dental examinations and treatment using modern motorised equipment to maintain comfort, eating efficiency, and performance, with specialist referral when required.

Microchipping & Passports – Passport applications and microchipping to meet legal requirements.

Prescription Check-Ups – Six-monthly health examinations to ensure your horse remains under veterinary care and eligible for repeat prescriptions.

Blood Testing – A full range of laboratory blood tests to support diagnosis, monitor health conditions, and investigate illness or poor performance.

Whether your horse is lame or simply not performing at their best, we take a thorough, systematic approach to identify the underlying cause.

Lameness Examinations – Comprehensive assessments including gait evaluation, flexion tests, and lunging on appropriate surfaces.

Diagnostics – Nerve and joint blocks, digital radiography and ultrasonography to reach an accurate diagnosis.

Gastroscopy – We can perform a gastroscopy at your yard, providing a detailed report, tailored treatment plan, and management advice.

Airway Endoscopy – Mobile endoscopy to investigate upper airway disorders affecting performance, with sampling where required.

Treatment & Rehabilitation – Joint injections, targeted medical treatments, and personalised rehabilitation plans to support recovery and long-term performance.

We are equipped with a mobile gastroscope and airway endoscope. Our experienced vets are skilled at performing tracheal washes and broncho-alveolar lavages at your yard if required in the investigation of respiratory problems. We also offer guttural pouch washes for the management of strangles if required. 

Our ultrasound machines can be used to image all areas of your horse, including the abdomen and chest, to aid in the diagnosis of digestive and respiratory issues. We can also carry out liver, skin and muscle biopsies on the road. 

We perform a range of routine surgical procedures at your yard if appropriate, allowing many treatments to be carried out in a familiar environment for your horse.

Castration – We offer both standing castrations under sedation and castrations performed under short general anaesthesia. The most appropriate technique will be recommended following examination of your horse, taking into account factors such as age, size, temperament, testicular position, and individual circumstances. In some cases, referral to a surgical facility may be recommended.

Minor Surgical Procedures – We carry out a variety of routine surgical procedures, including the removal of lumps and skin masses, wound repair, and other minor soft tissue surgeries where suitable. All procedures are performed using appropriate sedation, local anaesthesia, and pain relief, with detailed aftercare advice provided to support recovery.

We provide comprehensive breeding services throughout the breeding season, supporting mares and breeders from conception through to foaling.

Mare Examination – Breeding soundness examinations, ultrasound scanning, and fertility investigations for mares.

Chilled & Frozen Artificial Insemination – Experienced management of chilled and frozen semen insemination, including cycle monitoring, ovulation timing, insemination, and pregnancy diagnosis.

Care of the Pregnant Mare – Regular pregnancy examinations, routine health care, nutritional and vaccination advice, and monitoring throughout gestation to help ensure a healthy pregnancy.

Foaling & Foal Care – Support before, during, and after foaling, including neonatal examinations, colostrum assessment, IgG testing where required, and ongoing care for both mare and foal.

Saying goodbye to a much-loved horse is never easy, and we aim to provide compassionate, respectful support throughout the process, whether it is a planned or emergency decision.

Where euthanasia is the kindest option, this is carried out by one of our experienced vets using a peaceful intravenous injection. We will discuss the procedure beforehand and answer any questions you may have.

Following euthanasia, we can assist you with organising the next steps if you would prefer this, including:

• Collection – Individual cremation with ashes returned.
• Collection – Communal (group) cremation.
• Burial, where legally permitted and appropriate.

We are happy to discuss each option with you in advance so you can make the decision that feels right for you and your horse.

Our own experienced veterinary team provides a 24-hour emergency service, 365 days a year.

You will always be seen by one of our practice vets, ensuring continuity of care and access to your horse’s medical history. Emergency visits attract an additional call-out fee, with charges varying depending on whether the visit is during normal working hours or out of hours.

Purchasing a horse is a significant investment, and a pre-purchase examination provides valuable information to help you make an informed decision.

We offer:

• 2-Stage Vettings – A limited examination consisting of a detailed physical examination and dynamic assessment in hand, suitable for many horses and circumstances.
• 5-Stage Vettings – A comprehensive examination including ridden exercise, recovery assessment, and a second trot-up in addition to the first 2 stages. 

Additional diagnostic tests can also be arranged, including digital radiography (X-rays), blood sampling e.g. for strangles, endoscopic examinations, and other investigations where requested. Please note, a blood sample is always taken as part of the vetting. This is sent to an external laboratory and stored, and is available for drug testing at a later date should it be requested. 

Our vets Kate and Charlotte are qualified to carry out exports. We provide veterinary examinations, blood samples and certification required for horses travelling internationally. We can advise on the current health requirements, testing, and documentation needed for export to your destination.

Our vet Katherine is qualified to carry out riding school inspections, providing thorough assessments to ensure the horses are fit, healthy, and capable of the work required of them. Inspections also include a thorough assessment of the premises and paperwork to ensure everything meets current licensing requirements. 

Our vets are fully equipped to perform a wide range of diagnostics and treatments at your yard, reducing the need for referral whenever possible. Alongside our fully stocked veterinary vehicles carrying a comprehensive range of medicines, bandaging materials, and emergency equipment, we are also proud to have the following equipment available to us:
